This is the Second Annual "Alcatraz Classic" This is a 2k swim competition limited to 50 elite swimmers. Competitors will begin the race at the Alcatraz Island and finish at the beach at Crissy Field. Swimmers are selected to participate based on previous experience, speed, and bravery. Interested swimmers are encouraged to submit a small swim bio info@waterworldswim.com. The race organizers will review all bios and make the proper training recommendation to some. If interested, please include your past open water swimming experience, your open water 1-mile time or any other information that you feel may be important for the organizers to consider. This race is limited to 50 swimmers, and filling up quickly.
Please Note: This event is for experienced open-water swimmers only. This swim will not only require swimming strength and open water experience, but your expert ability to navigate a winning course. You should be able to comfortably swim one mile in a pool in under 40 minutes.
