Swim Course
Details
This 10K swim begins at the ocean side of the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge near Ft. Point Beach and goes along the beautiful coast line of San Francisco. The finish line will be located between a boat with a red buoy and Alpha Tower of the Bay Bridge. This is the furthest south tower of the Bay Bridge, next to Embarcadero Blvd.
WARNING: If any swimmer is found starting ahead of, or before the official whistle, a 2 MINUTE PENALTY will be added to the final time. (PLEASE NO DISCUSSION ABOUT RULES ALREADY ESTABLISHED) The time-clock will start running after this official sound.
Water Entry and Transporation
Once the ferry is in position and we have been given the “all-clear”, the swimmers will exit the Dauntless and swim to the floating start line and wait for the Start signal. Swimmers will then swim to the finish line located between a boat with a red buoy and Alpha Tower of the Bay Bridge. This is the furthest south tower of the Bay Bridge, next to Embarcadero Blvd. Any swimmer outside of the perimeter established for the swim will be disqualified. The swim is held at the end of the flood tide (west to east current).
