Coach Casey Wilcock

Water World Swim, International Division, proudly introduces to all our open water swimmers around the world, our new representative in Australia, Coach Casey Wilcock.
Coach Wilcock Coach and swimmer Coach Casey Wilcock, from Victoria, Australia has completed her first Alcatraz swim on March 24th. She accomplished this swim in only 36 minutes, challenging a 4.0 knots ebb. Casey, grew up swimming and coaching in her country. and presently an active swimmer training at elite level 10-15 hours a week, plus competitions. We proudly announce that she will be soon to become an ASCA coach and become our WWS representative in Victoria, Australia.
Casey went on to swim at an elite level from 1997, and made State Finals for both her school, and club in 1997 and 1998. Casey stopped racing in 1999, but in 2002 got back in the pool, this time to teach. Casey taught a range of students as an Auswim instructor, from infants to school groups, adults to special needs. In 2004 she recieved her bronze coaching licence, and coached a junior squad. It was around this time that Casey recieved her Open Water Diving qualification, and this hobby would take up her attention and time in the water, for the next 4 years. Casey went SCUBA diving across the South Pacific, Asia, and Africa, and of course Australia. Due to inner ear injuries, Casey hung up her SCUBA gear and got back into the pool, and began competing again, but in Open Water this time. Casey has swum in events around the Bellarine peninsula (Victoria) over the past 2 years, including the Danger 1000, Pier to Pub, Queenscliffe Blue Water Challenge, and Great Ocean Festival of Apollo Bay. .
In 2010, Casey travelled to San Francisco, to complete her first Alcatraz crossing, and completed this 1.5 mile swim in 36 minutes. She is now looking forward to joining WWS Chile in January to test the South American Waters.
