On Saturday, July 18th 2009, Water World
Swim will host the fourth annual round trip Alcatraz swim.
This swim will be a challenge for fast swimmers requiring a very
strategic race plan. The spectacular 3.25 mile course will include
changing tides and fast currents around the Rock.

Elite class swim around Alcatraz and back—
the first of its kind in the world! The swim is an estimated
3.25 mile course in the treacherous waters of San Francisco
Bay.

For
the first time, the Olympic Committee added open water swimming to the last Olympics in Beijing. Now as an official sport in the next Olympics in London, The Swim Around the Rock ©
event is a tremendous training ground for competitors for
the next Olympics. Some of the world’s best swimmers are
expected. |
